Those who are a part of network marketing are challenged by their supervisors and their upline to continually tell their family and friends about their business. They do so, but with fear! Why does it have to be this way?</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Too often, network marketing representatives get wrapped up in worrying about what others thing when they share about their business opportunity. That makes them share reluctantly, or without any confidence, and people see right through that. This fear and worry reveals that their motivation for sharing their business isn’t very strong at all. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">For example: consider a knife. In the right hands, a knife is an amazing tool with the potential to save a life. A surgeon will carefully perform life-saving surgery with a knife. However, if the same knife is in the hands of a murderer, that tool can become a weapon that harms others and can take lives. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Network marketing is just like this.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">If you connect with your prospects with the intention of manipulating them, or simply making money off of them, then you’re using the knife completely wrong. You want to be like the surgeon, carefully sharing this knowledge about network marketing that can save a life – because network marketing reveals who we really are. If you feel like you are “cheating” others by sharing your network marketing business with the, then your intentions are going to be clear, and you are going to look awful in front of your prospect. <p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">You can do the exact same thing with your products. You have a great product in your catalog that can burst your immune system and fight disease. Would be wrong to ask the patient to consider buying your life saving product? Of course not! The surgeon wants to help the patient, and you are trying to help them better their lives. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">As a leader in network marketing, your main duty is to help others succeed like you are. Any serious leader will do their best in helping their downline achieve success. Don’t just sit around, waiting for them to connect to prospects and bring them into your network. Go forth with them, and help them out of their harder times or just be there to answer questions. Let them benefit by learning from your confidence, your leadership, and your experience. </span></p>

A long distance runner trains for years in order to make it to the Olympic Games. He works for hours, every day of the week. He trains with the best trainers, he eats clean, he lifts weights and he disciplines himself in every area of his life. Finally, he reaches the final race. He begins running the marathon, representing his home country, his family, and all runners watching him on television internationally.</p>
<p>The sun is brutal and his body hurts from the strenuous conditions. He finally makes it to the final mile, muscles aching and body sore. He speeds up to cross the finish line, he leans forward to reach the end&#8230;</p>

&#8230; and right before he reaches the final step, he gives up. Because it hurts. Even though he is just feet from the finish line.</p>
<p>So close, and yet, so far. What a shame.</p>
<p>This example reminds me of most new network marketing representatives. It&#8217;s very sad, but it&#8217;s true. Most people begin their training with high hopes, and they work to get closer and closer to experiencing what it means to be a success in this industry. They are just steps away from becoming a leader&#8230; but then they quit because it&#8217;s hard. They aren&#8217;t looking ahead to the final prize, and they quit before they can bring forth their successes.</p>
<p>If you really want to see results in your network marketing business, you need to be committed to it through thick and thin. You cannot become frustrated because you don&#8217;t see results immediately. No ancient oak tree started out as tall as a building.</p>
<p>Network marketing is all about exponential growth &#8211; albeit it might grow VERY SLOWLY at the start, nevertheless, it is still exponential growth.</p>
<p>Let me put it this way:</p>
<p>When someone makes the leap to become a representative, they have to go through network marketing training, and break through all of the negative baggage they have been collecting all of their lives. This can take up to an entire year. They have to work through their fear of success and their worries about the future. It&#8217;s almost as if they need to work extra hard just to break even. This is why people give up so quickly!</p>
<p>But just because you are having trouble looking ahead to your successes doesn&#8217;t mean that it isn&#8217;t possible to make it there. Your first success may be small, but once you break event, your successes will grow exponentially!</p>
<p>Even though one may seem small, when it doubles, it becomes two. Then two becomes four, and so on. Eventually, your small success grows to sixty-four, and so on. Once you hit that magical number of four, your growth will be evident. All you have to do is keep your eyes on the prize. Take this time to prepare yourself to enjoy your coming success. Hang in there, and you will see results.</p>

<p>Actually, the problem is <strong>NOT with the network marketing industry but rather with the failure mentality of people who get into the business. </strong> (If you fail in an examination, you can&#8217;t blame the teachers or the system because at the end of the day, the only person who can study hard and pass the exam is only YOU).</p>
<p>There are four roads to failure in network marketing. They all have to do with your mindset. Have these mindsets, and you are guaranteed to have roadblocks between you and your success.</p>
<p><strong>(1)	People looking for an easy path to wealth</strong></p>
<p>Nothing is given to you for free. Some people think that network marketing is like a free win in Las Vegas, where you put in a few quarters and you get a jackpot in return. However, this is not how things work</p>
<p><strong>(2)	They believe that if you start high, you won&#8217;t have to work very hard</strong></p>
<p>Some network marketing businesses allow you to purchase a higher status which lets you buy more products at a lower rate to sell to your customers, and therefore giving you larger commission checks. But starting a bit higher doesn&#8217;t mean that you skipped over having to work hard. Instead, you have more invested up front. Therefore, you need to work even harder to recover the investment you put into your business. You may have bought yourself a higher rank, but you have not bought your downline.</p>
<p><strong>(3)	Waiting for profit from your upline</strong></p>
<p>Sitting and waiting for your upline to place downlines under your group is another way to fail. It&#8217;s easy to get caught in this mindset, especially under binary structured plans. By relying on others as a crutch, you will fail. Even if your upline creates downlines for you in your network, they are just a perk. You didn&#8217;t earn them; they are a gift. It&#8217;s not your upline&#8217;s job to build a team for you. If they do provide you with representatives, it&#8217;s a benefit for their network more than yours.</p>
<p><strong>(4)	They don&#8217;t want to build a strong network</strong></p>
<p>This business is called network marketing for a reason. Building a network takes time and energy. A half-hearted effort brings half-hearted results. Corporate successes didn&#8217;t make it to the top by coming in late, leaving early and wearing flip-flops to the office. <p>When there are too many opportunities on the playing field, <strong>people become overwhelmed by all of the choices, and they become confused about what they really want for themselves. </strong> Through the media, people are inundated with countless business opportunities. Television, email, internet, and the radio bombard us with multitudes of opportunities. If we are not careful, we can become sidetracked and lose focus on our main network marketing business.</p>
<p>In order to be ready to dismiss all of these distracting opportunities, we have to be clear about our priorities. Here are some ways to recognize distracting threats.</p>
<p><strong>- It may take months or in some case several years of hard work in one network marketing opportunity before you can get fantastic results or earn a residual income. </strong> It&#8217;s like going to school. How long did it take you to get your diploma or degree? If you are thinking of &#8216;trying something new&#8217;, then you need to make sure you are prepared to invest at least one year into your new business. Otherwise, you are just going to be wasting your time, until another business catches your eye and distracts you yet again.</p>
<p><strong>-	You are going to risk your reputation if you are constantly distracted by the next big thing. </strong> Remember, when you talk to your friends about network marketing, they are observing you and your commitment to your business. They are looking at you, trying to figure out if you are going to stick with this business for a while. If you constantly change network marketing opportunity businesses, you are going to be judged by your friends and family members. The last thing you want is for them to talk about you, saying, <strong>&quot;I could tell she/he wasn&#8217;t really that committed&#8230; thank goodness I never joined in on that business.&quot;</strong></p>

A lot of people get into this industry with this flawed, get-rich-quick mindset, and they fail to realize that network marketing is really all about creating a slow, long-term, interconnected business.</p>
<p>If you are in network marketing with this get rich quick mindset, I strongly advise you to consider this fact: Would you rather burn yourself out making $1,000 a month for a few months, wearing yourself out, and then crashing and burning? Or, would you rather work steadily and build a strong, ever-increasing residual income of $50,000 per month or more for the rest of your life, even AFTER you&#8217;ve stopped doing network marketing?</p>
<p>The choice may seem really obvious, but greed often blinds our eyes to the rewards of being patient and waiting for delayed gratification</p>
<p>Here are a few of the reasons why earning quick money is actually one of the worst ways to build your network marketing business:</p>
<p><strong>Quick money is short term</strong></p>
<p>Network marketing is a business where people build a huge income over a period of time through the efforts of many people. Think of it this way: would you rather use 100% of your own strength, or 1% of the strengths of 100 people?</p>
<p><strong>Network marketing doesn&#8217;t provide huge commissions unless you have a huge team.</strong></p>
<p>Many network marketing companies offer huge commission checks to the leader who builds the largest sales volume through their network &#8211; not from their PERSONAL sales. Most network marketing compensation plans also increase your payouts only after you&#8217;ve helped others to reach their goals as well. So don&#8217;t be selfish and focus only on yourself &#8211; help others succeed first, before you succeed.</p>
<p><strong>Network marketing is more of a teaching industry rather than a sales industry.</strong></p>
<p>Even though sales are certainly involved in network marketing, it is not the best seller who wins the day. Rather, it is the best TEACHER that succeeds. Remember, network marketing is all about duplication. It is not a one-man show. You can sell thousands and thousands of dollars every month, but you are still one seller and you seriously can&#8217;t do the same thing forever. <p>Most people should join network marketing companies at an entry level that they are comfortable in. You may earn more commissions by getting your new downlines to frontload. But if they are in financial trouble or if they lack the proper training, your downlines will drop out from your network like a flash, and you will have no one left in your team to lead. Your downlines are your golden goose, so please don&#8217;t cut them open, feed them and nurture them so they can lay more eggs, and they will all have golden geese of their own that will benefit you in the long run.</p>
<p>You have to get rid of the &quot;get rich quick&quot; mentality &#8211; <strong>not only is it totally destructive to your network, but you might even get a bad reputation if things go sour.</strong> Make sure you are prepared to commit the next two to five years to your network marketing business.</p>

<p>Network marketing&#8230; some people get excited about it and some people fear it, but what is it really all about? Whether you think it&#8217;s a scam or the holy grail, <strong>network marketing is nothing more than a distribution channel </strong>- but what does this mean?</p>
<p>The traditional distribution channel is made up of a manufacturer, agents, wholesalers, retailers and customers. Network marketing simply does away with the middle-men. Let&#8217;s see how that works by looking at tradition distribution in more detail:</p>
<p>Manufacturers produce finished the products in bulk and, usually, they deal only with agents or wholesalers directly. Customers can&#8217;t buy their products directly from the manufacturer, they have to approach a wholesaler or an agent to do so.</p>
<p>If agents are involved at all (sometimes manufactures deal directly with wholesalers), their role is to negotiate contracts between the suppliers and the distributors. Sometimes the agents are a kind of &#8216;gatekeeper&#8217;, keeping the business of importing and exporting goods within the confines of the law.</p>
<p>The wholesaler&#8217;s function is to store the stock and distribute it directly to retailers. The wholesaler will have negotiated their price with the manufacturers and/or agents, and it is their job to keep the retailer well supplied with products.</p>
<p>The retailer is then able to supply the goods to the customer. This is the only point in the traditional distribution process that the product becomes available to the customer, and the retailer is the only party to have direct access to the customer.</p>
<p>So, eventually the customer may purchase the product they require. This product will have passed through the process above and at every point in the process each party will have taken their profit. The price will have been marked up many times, and the real cost of the product will be far lower than that which the customer ultimately pays.</p>
<p><strong>Network marketing does away with the all the middle-men and the process of marking up many times.</strong> Network marketers provide a direct connection between the manufacturer (the network marketing company) and the customer.</p>
<p>The other, unique benefit of being in network marketing is that the customer can go on to become a distributor, and vice versa. Often the customer is so excited by the product, and by the price that is possible because there are no middle-men, that they wish to distribute it themselves. And it is more common than not that the distributors will also be customers by using their own product &#8211; this is often how they got involved themselves.</p>
<p>The benefits of network marketing as a system of distribution are:</p>
<p>More competitive prices due to cutting out the middle-men.</p>
<p><strong>A more personal approach.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Everybody involved has the opportunity to make money from selling the products.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Distributors can sponsor their customers to also distribute the products (downlines).</strong></p>
<p>All of this makes network marketing distribution a far more most cost effective form of distribution than the traditional model.</p>
