How to Stay Focus and Succeed in Your MLM Business
Staying focused is hard in a world filled with opportunities. Most people have seen dozens of opportunities and network marketing is bound to have been among them. They may even have tried a few. We live in a time where anyone can start a business, even on the most modest income. If you can build a fortune without a huge capital investment, and if there are thousands of opportunities to choose from, how can we possibly know which one to pick?
In a world where there are so many opportunities people are spoil for choice. They are bombarded with business opportunities daily, on television, by mail, from friends and colleagues, on the internet. If you are not careful it is easy to lose your focus and forget what you want to achieve from the business opportunity.
How can we stay focused on our priorities and avoid the pitfalls of the many distracting possibilities?
1. Rome, as they say, wasn’t built in a day. It takes hard work over a number of years in a network marketing opportunity before you begin to earn a residual income. Why would you expect it to be any different? How long does it take to get a university degree or train to be a doctor or a teacher? If you expect instant results, and are disappointed when you don’t achieve them, you may be tempted to start something else. DON’T. Put the time and effort into where you are now or you will only end up in the same position again in a few months’ time.
2. Think about your reputation in the industry of network marketing as a whole, and amongst your friends and family. If you keep getting distracted by other opportunities you are putting your reputation in danger. How can you be convincing when you talk to your warm market about your great opportunity if it is the third or fourth or fifth one they have heard about? Remember, they are watching you. They need to see if you succeed, if you stick with it, before they will get involved. Think about the example you set, otherwise when you do finally stick with an opportunity, or simply run out of options, your friends and family will never take you seriously.
3. We can all multi-task to a certain extent but when it comes to business you can’t split yourself in two or spread yourself too thin. It is good to try out different things - the law of averages shows that eventually something you try will work. But nothing will ever work for you if you don’t put in the required effort over the necessary period of time. If you join more than one network marketing opportunity you may think you are spreading your options around, but the reality is you can only focus on one thing well at any one time.
To sum up, you need to focus all your energies into where you are right now. Avoid the distraction of another opportunity - if you are bored think about how to inject some more passion into the opportunity you already have. And watch out for the unwanted effects of being tempted - your reputation may be on the line.
